Model Making

I was with Frankie having a meeting in DBKL. Officer from DBKL said that the house is strange in the overall context, and stand out from the neighbourhood, though it could be a amazing piece of architecture, still in the area of "influencial people" place, a shouting architecture is not encouraged. (they wanna save themselves from trouble, one of the main reason i guess... Imagize all the Datos, Dato Seris, Tan Sris, or even PM writing to DBKL to complain about this, no one would want his job to end like this)

*heard that PM and DPM bungalows are located in Bukit Damansara, not sure true or not, lazy to confirm it.

And, there came the best part, Frankie said: We could always produce a SITE MODEL for you, and it will prove the design is absolutely in harmony with the neighbours, and in the same time it is a sustainable design, which in line with DBKL's guidelines..."

There it comes, what troubling me for almost THREE WEEKS!

I must say, it could be the most difficult ever model making in my 23 years of history on earth!

First, i took 1 week to do this...

And then, i spent another week, doing the house itself and repairing the other SMALL SMALL things, which is at 1:500 scale!!!
I have to say, I really hate the colour on my model!!!
As I mentioned, the model is at 1:500 scale, however, the boss even gets the scale ruler and argued with me over 1m of building height... If you still do not have a clear idea of 1m in 1:500 scale, it is 2mm, which is equivalant to the thickness of ONLY ONE mounting board!
The proportion of my finger to the house

On the third week, repairing this repairing that, and, I took the house off its columns and base, 6 times!!! Heartpain...
Then, came the worst part, boss said the drain in front of our site is very very very important, and, there's how he created the drain on the model...
All you need to make a drain on a site model, is a blue colour Artline 0.6, and 5 minutes of your precious time... (heart wrenching....)
Did I say I also hurted my finger?!
This, is AhBeng's precious experience on model making. If I were to make some kind of sentense making, I would choose alphabet F!

Rocket House

Driving along the highways in Shanghai, you have a very very very high chance of seeing this...

Perspective from a distance, I believe the first impression one would have is like: "huh... nice oh, even houses also like Disneyland, got pretty pretty and colourful castle ah!"

However, at a closer look, this is how the cluster of fantasy houses look like...

I call the houses, Rocket House.

Why rocket house? Because it really looks like having rocket ports on top of the roofs!

The residents in Shanghai believe that the higher and bigger your rocket is, the richer you are.

AhBeng's believe it or not? Believe it.

Malaysian Attitude?

It was balik kampung time, and i was in Pudu.

It has been quite some time since i take bus in pudu, and, I was so surprised to see the renovation on Pudu terminal, new painting, new sign boards... Though personally i think that the colours are awfuly matched, still it is an effort to improve the condition, i appreciate that.

New painting, with the new signboards, is it nice?

Crack on the newly painted wall?! Did i just say NEWLY PAINTED? Or it hass been ages since last time i came?

Boring while waiting for the bus to come, I was staring at the signboard... Toilet, lift, ticket counter, keluar sign, do not smoke, do not litter, well, a pretty informative signboard. However, the moment I turned my head to the other direction, I was amazed, by this...

Having the toilet sign next to a "Do-not-pee-Here" sign, that's exclusive in Malaysia, only Malaysia.

Juliet the Orange - Quizzical

First heard of the song when i started to turn to perfect10, 98.7. Timing could never be that good, because I had the chance to get to know this amazing group from Malaysia that came up with such brilliant music of fantasy and mirage.

It's such a shame for hitz.fm and mix fm that they never broadcast or promote this gifted Malaysian group!!! And now, without the sales and support from local industry, they have actually split years ago. Such a pain that we have lost them...

Found a very interesting animation done by biscottifish in youtube. Share with you all.

It's from the comments of the clip saying that one of them is now a lawyer, she is doing great in life and career... May they all do well in their career and life, God bless.

First ever project

Well, just into the first month of my working life in the company, and, i had completed my first task! ^^

It was a tough one, as we virtually have only 2 people working on the all DRAWINGs, from landscape, interior, floor plans, to presentation board and etc etc... and, we managed to 'wrap' it all up just before the boss went to airport, in merely 1 1/2 week!

the landscape, layers of bamboo and colourful vegetation that grows under, around, and even above the building, it's gonna be stunning to experience.

Amazing sunset view by bs, jj and feei, a house for all seasons, another Falling Water it may be? haha...

I am ready to take the challanges and the learning curve. Way to go.

花好月圆

I have been so in love since the first time I heard this song, 花好月圆, during my childhood.

And it was only until I played o2jam, when again, I heard of the song.

Here is a linked clip of the 花好月圆 in o2jam.

The music is absolutely stunning when hear for the first time, and I get addicted with the song. The lyrics and the visualisation of the entire song just bring me to the heaven away from the hurry and hasteness of the city life, the pressure, the pursuit of life, the worries...everything, throw from sky down to the earth.

I am rushing for submission in the office till late hours these few days, and it's the song that accompany me all the time.

I heard so many times, until my colleague names 乔维怡 as no. 306, kaka... (because she introduced herself by saying: "Hi, I am contestant no.306, 乔维怡...") She is sure to cry if she knows how we nicknamed her. :p

浮云散

明月照人来

团圆美满今朝最

清浅池塘鸳鸯戏水

红裳翠盖并蒂莲开

双双对对恩恩爱爱

这暖风儿向着好花吹

柔情蜜意满人间

Here, share with all of you, a nice song from 乔维怡 -花好月圆.

Malaysian Artistes For Unity (MAFU)

I found their website, Malaysian Artistes For Unity.

On the intro:

Bored. so he telephoned a few friends. “how about getting together to make an anti-racism national unity song and music video?” all said yes without hesitation. not because pete threatened them with a sharp and rusty knife. but only because they love malaysia.

The contingent swelled to 52 people a few days later. it included filmmakers, dancers, singers, producers, musicians, actors, entrepreneurs, designers, footballers, activists, celebrities, students and a florist. nobody would be paid. yet they were enthused. not because they were high on speed. only because they love Malaysia.

They gathered to record the song. it had a catchy chorus and was able to induce a mass sing-along. everyone was happy when it was done. they named it ‘here in my home’. then more people joined. the party now included more than 120 people. but the budget remained exactly zero. it seems even the spreadsheet loves malaysia.

Everyone turned up for the video shoot. much fun was had and friendships made. video editors went to work after the shoot was done. both the recording and the video would be given away for free. a gift to the nation. from those who love malaysia to those who feel the same.

did you ask what this is all about?

it’s about love.

Salute to them.

HongKong trip

I was in Hong Kong, and had a very early breakfast with pengywaw, hooi han and phaik yuh after taking the final chance to take pics with the handprints of superstars at the starwalk, and also hoping to catch the sunrise on our last day in Hong Kong.

This is how a 'professional' director should pose. Yeng!

And this is how a real professional director should pose. Not yeng! :p

The next Michelle Yeoh, wulala

F3, i love this picture. :)

Feeling hungry after the pics taking and having enough breeze, we went for breakfast, early early breakfast at 6.30am, at early early Mcdonald breakfast, kaka...

This is what they showed on the display.
From far far seem so delicious alr, yummy

Close up even gonna make you eat your tongue up

However....

This is what I got in reality.

Arm... It is all true, we should give ourselves space of imagination for things that cross our lives and happen to be so beautiful.

You wouldn't want to see 吴彦祖or林志玲 pics in their loo, don't you?

Maybe Mcdonald should modify bit of the poster, like this.

Ken's Music

Finally gaining back some of the feeling of enjoying blogging i had last time, kaka, happy happy.

Spending hours exploring on html code to embed music player, and still I couldn't solve it. Taking the easy way out, http://www.box.net/, a very nice and convenient website for the file hosting and website link.

Here are some of my favourite songs.

Sharing is always source of happiness. Whether you like it or not, I appreciate if you take the time to listen to it. : )

"Here in My Home" by Malaysian Artist for Unity, a song you should never miss. A truly Malaysian spirit of independence time.

Is it sad to say so?

I am.

Abuse

Ok ok, today, let AhBeng give some serious lecture on 'Abuse'.

Abuse oh, everyone surely to think about something like this...

The abuser sucks, got no blood, or freezed blood, no heart no lung, born children with no asshole... whatever words you can thought of, do apply on those abuser!!!

However, what i wan to say, is something, much much serious and get sore about. Or you might be possibly get so pissed off that you become like him...

awesome if someone could really get so pissed off like this, kaka

Abuse of power and trust.

Abuse of power...

Without wasting your time of reading my blog, and then making you to delete my blog url forever and ever, let's go straight to the point.

I am taking the best example that I could find on the earth today --- politicians

Needless to elaborate I assume, sorry, wrong word used, should be FOR SURE!!!

I don't know, protest over symposium which finally forced the symposium to end just like that, quote from chinese idiom, tiger's head snake' tail.
for my dearly readers who are not that imaginative, yes, just like this, exactly! How the symposium ended!

Yeah, and on the other hand, allowing 5000++ students (undergraduates i was to mean... or maybe not in term of intellectuality) to 'matching' towards government office building, bravo...

How about a round of applause? Standing ovation....

It's lyrics of Rihanna's Take a Bow, I didn't say anything, it was all Rihanna.

Opps, no no, I am kind of infected with all the viruses that spread the practise of 'taiching', I think the viruses grow well when people are filled in the stomach, but empty somewhere in the head.

Today, I heard someone talking about abuse of trust, which enlightened me.

enlightened like this lo, wakaka

Trust, everyone has it, since the moment we are born, schooling, working, and in whatever we do.

(If you are saying that you never been trusted, then i bet you don't know what is trust, coz whatever you do, you had already been give trust to do the thing. If still you say you don't have it, carry on to read it and give some thought of yourself after that.)

Our parents give us the freedom to do the things we like, that is trust on us. Teachers give us homwork to do, that's because they trust we will work hard on it (although most of the time they raelly know we wouldn't, kaka...), work given by boss, that's trust... Anything we do, anywhere we are, it's inevitable that we are given trust.

Human don't really treasure the things that gained with no pain, and thus so so little people out there knowing to appreciate the trust given on them, because abusing the trust, it hurts even deeper than phsical abuse.

Stories about people in the past, being tortured brutal, ferocious, merciless, slaughterous, inhuman crucifixion, I am sure the physical torture they were having, could never match the suffering they were having with their feeling.

方孝孺 'chopped' (not an appropriate word, and geli I would say) at the waist, still he wanted to tell the world the resentment and anger with the 13.5 words of 'usurp, 篡' written with his blood...

Trust me, and many living (or dead) examples, never abuse the trust on you, never to regret only when you have lost it. No pain no gain is a lie, we era-Y generation should be smart and gain without any pain.

Politicians, you all are such a GREAT example to my blog, clap clap clap...

Shouldn't the world built entirely on 'love' and 'trust'? It's just like having foundation on the tip of a pyramid, having the balance of the 'love' and 'trust' broken, go fall all of us into the dark space surrounding us.

So, how are we gonna fight back against abuse? Like this, give a glum face loh. :p

Fight for the unfair and the quality of relationship between human-human and human-nature, tomorrow will always a better day.

p/s: Cheer Lee Chong Wei to win Gold this sunday, and cheer for Wong Meow Chu, you're always the best!!!

Broke in pieces

Its has been a long time since i bloged last time.

And the causes for my long period spacing - a lot.

After losing my confidence for such a long time, i am now picking it up , piece by piece, and hopefully the adherent i am using is strong enough, otherwise will become another Kepong's MRR2 - once broken, not matter how hard you tried, it will never get back to where it was.

It's how we all get hurted picking up the pieces

Secondly, I am now officialy shouting out LOADDDD my disatisfaction and anger for TMnet Malaysia!!!

I can't believe it took so much time and hard work, and, just for the sake of changing my streamxyx package.

I called 4 times, went to TMpoint 2 times, which costed me a lot of money, and my precious time. In the end, to my unbelieve, i am cheated by TM POINT MANAGER.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cheater: Sir, can i help you?
Cheated Beng: Ya surely, thanks a lot. I am checking if i can change my package of streamyx to unlimited usage.
Cheater: No problem, come and let me help you with it.
Cheated Beng: It's wonderful, thankiu, thankiu...
After all the forms were filled, which alr took me more than 30minutes...
Cheater: OMG, sorry sir, i am afraid you can't proceed with the change of the package.
Cheater Beng: Why? I didn't pay for the bill?
Cheater: No la, it's just that we need the IC of the registrant of the streamyx account. And it's apparently not your IC.
(of course la, am i look 99% like my father in term of the 'age' on my face?)
Cheated Beng: Oh, it's ok then la, i understand that. So how could i continue the procedure?
Cheater: Easy, it's ok you can't proceed with the procedures today, you can still call to our headquarters and change your package over there, the number is 1300-88-9515.
Cheated Beng: (Blur blur, but still have some very very little common knowledge) Is it? I thought this type of complicated process can never be done in Malaysia(never improving Malaysia i meant)?
Cheater: Of course we got, TMnet is providing so good services right now, you can almost do everything in home through phone and internet.
Cheated Beng: (Can't believe what i heard) You sure? I have a lot of experience dealing with customer services from TMnet leh, they are not really as good as what you describe.
Cheater: What's the number you called last time?
Cheated Beng: 100 loh.
Cheater: No wonder lah, 100 is for the normal user, but 1300-88-9515 is to the headquarters, everything will be different.
(Too happy because can handle everything in home, Cheated Beng hoppped away like an idiot)
Back home, and i called the number...Needless to say, that's why his name is CHEATER!!!
I don't mind if you tell me to come again, it's tough with all the trouble with the parking and time spent, however, what i hate most is being cheated, you sucks.
Thirdly, my camera been stolen for quite some time already, without my camera, i am really no mood to edit all those pictures.
Now even i am losing my interest in photography, how sad what an impact a thief brought to me.
I haven't brought any camera since my lost of camera, not a single dinner or outing, and not even the HongKong trip and my convo.
Same goes with my confidence, it breaks into much smaller pieces, still i am gonna pick them up. Anyway, i never give up on myself and the things i love and treasure.
My face is somewhere looks like this now? kaka
edited: TM is reported to collect RM3billion in 6 months' time.
Hope from over all Malaysia lah, overcome it and make it a truely Malaysia Boleh!, not just bare jerit jerit until sore throat, shouting in action, but no action on hands.
Final step
Architecture life has always been described as a game, which I am seeing it as the 'ladder climbing' game we had during our childhood days.
Every step that you step on, you don't know what's gonna happen to you. Ups and downs, which are the experience we will go through in the process of ending the game.
Some are on the way to the destination, some are still struggling in the game as they are going through too many 'down-ladders'.
Today, we are gonna make the last toss of this three years long Architecture Life_Game, hoping that we can finish smoothly.
As for those who gonna continue playing for the extension of the game, good luck and all the best to you. : )
p/s: it's been widely known that there are some people in the game who never experience the ups and downs, whom we call them 'always good', haha... : p
Exam Time
April to May, exam time in the university and colleges again.
During this time, I can see various creative ideas floating around in msn, expressing emotions, stress, and expectations for the exam. (how wonderful it would be if it happens during my studio time, where i shouldn't have problems in producing all those so called lofty, spiritual, but actually shit-of-a-bull concepts and ideas which has nothing to do with the down-to-earth approach in built environment issues.)
It started with 烤柿,毒书...
Coming to the end of the exam, it has become 烤焦了柿,毒书反被毒. Wanna know the creative creator of this?
Here.
During the critical time, a lot of people will get so troubled, driven to the limit until they get lost (including me, sometimes).
However, there are also people to cheer you up and give you the courage to move on.
At the same time, some will creatively give you a smile when you see his message.
But, what is this? Log on to msn, and asking you not to disturb?
I don't understand.
